Bessie has been lovingly restored and transformed to capture a retro feel whilst preserving as many of the lorry’s original features as possible. Stepping inside through the double-opening doors located on the lorry’s original unloading ramp, you’ll find a cosy living space. This space includes a kitchenette featuring a fridge/freezer, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and ceramic hob, a mini oven is available on request. A comfortable sofa easily converts into a double bed, and sliding doors lead to a raised deck adorned with a bistro table and chairs—ideal for sipping coffee and savouring the rural views over neighbouring farmland. Bessie also boasts a contemporary shower room complete with a full-size shower cubicle, a toilet, and a wash hand basin.
In addition to your exclusive deck and the green expanse that surrounds it, you’re welcome to explore the shared adjacent front paddock for basking in the warm, sunlit evenings. If you’re in the mood for an al fresco meal, don’t hesitate to set up a picnic in one of our enclosed paddocks and relish the delightful presence of our friendly pygmy goats.
Nestled in a tranquil clearing, this property offers views over the surrounding farmland towards the historic Roundway Down. It boasts easy access (300 metres) to the scenic Kennet and Avon Canal, providing excellent opportunities for countryside strolls and cycling plus the choice of a country pub around 10 minutes walk in either direction. The location is incredibly convenient for those eager to explore nearby towns like Devizes, Corsham, Bradford on Avon, and charming villages such as Lacock, Biddestone, and Castle Combe. Furthermore, the splendid city of Bath is just a short 16 miles away, while the prehistoric wonders of Stonehenge and Avebury, as well as the renowned Longleat House, are all within close reach.
This shepherds hut Ivy sits alongside this property, and both properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 4 guests.
