The apartment is only a 10-minute walk downhill into Oban town centre where you can find a multitude of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Local transport links are close by allowing for easy transport in and around Oban. Oban itself has many tourist attractions including the Oban distillery visitor centre, numerous boat tour/trips to and around the surrounding areas and is rich in local history and wildlife.
A bustling west coast harbour town, Oban has such a lot going on for the visitor at any time of the year. Central for touring Argyll and known as the “Gateway to the Isles”, there are ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa, Lismore. Locally, there are loads of outdoor sports to enjoy, with a kayaking centre, which launches into Oban Bay. In keeping with its reputation as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, there are some excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby, for relaxing after a pleasant day out exploring all the wonderful scenery and interesting attractions which Argyll has to offer.
There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just two miles’ drive along the coastal road.
