Situated in the peaceful village of Paxton, Ashfield is a charming detached holiday cottage with its own private garden. There is a pub within walking distance which serves delicious home cooked meals. Also nearby is Paxton House, which hosts exhibitions throughout the summer but is a lovely place to dog walk and relax all year round. Plus the tea room does excellent cakes! The seaside town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is roughly 5 miles away and has an array of shops, cafés and restaurants plus other amenities. It is also hosts a mainline station, should you fancy taking the train to the bright lights of Edinburgh or Newcastle upon Tyne.
Ashfield is located down a narrow back lane with parking outside for one car, plus space for another on the pebble drive. This comfortable property provides ample accommodation for four people yet is still a cosy retreat for two. All the rooms are on the ground floor. One dog is permitted and the enclosed garden is a perfect place for it to let off steam. The dining kitchen is well-equipped with appliances, the living room features a wood burner and comfortable sofas and the bathroom has a bath plus shower. You’ll be needing somewhere to soak after walking in the Lammermuir Hills or by the River Tweed! There are two bedrooms containing kingside beds plus a day room which houses a single. It’s the perfect place for daytime reading or dozing, or a little more privacy at night. Whilst the property can sleep five, occupancy is limited to four - just so that everyone feels properly comfy all of the time.
