From the attractive tiered garden with furniture, you can enjoy the stunning views across the Wye Valley. "Back door" walks are available, from among others to the river Wye & Water-cum-Jolly, the Monsal trail & viaduct and Cressbrook Dale leading to Litton. An abundance of wildlife including, as the name suggests, the local badgers which can, from time to time, be spotted in the cottage garden.
Cressbrook is a quiet, picturesque village nestling on the hillside on the River Wye overlooking Millers Dale and a mere 4½ miles north of Bakewell. The village has been developed around the cotton mill and is near to Water-cum-Jolly, a beautiful river gorge with limestone cliffs. The village is conveniently located for enjoying the wonderful Peak District and the many attractions it offers including castles, caverns, historic houses, and many outdoor activities.
The market towns of Buxton and Bakewell are close by with a host of shops, pubs, coffee houses and restaurants to enjoy. Close to Monsal Trail, this location boasts some fabulous walks, cycle paths and climbing routes. Shop, pub, and restaurant 1½ mile.
