For those with young children there are also a number of great days out on the doorstep. If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen, from the artist’s town of Kirkcudbright, to the region’s infamous Spring Fling festival, amongst many other events that take place all year round.
