Cosy, comfortable country living is brought to life here with a large open fire in the living room and an Aga warming the kitchen where you can sit round the dining table with family or friends enjoying a lovely meal and chatting over your days activities. Stables House has its own private small sitting out area however guests can schedule an opportunity to spend some time in the enchanting walled garden, where you can arrange the pizza oven to be fired up! Barwhillanty, which has been family run since 1884, is a 5000-acre estate set in the beautiful Galloway Hills of Kirkcudbrightshire in south west Scotland. This wonderful property offers guests the chance to relax and unwind with over 18 miles of picturesque walks on the estate (route maps are provided) or trout fishing is available on request.
The surrounding area offers a tremendous amount to occupy guests including golf, sailing, horse riding and cycling (both road and mountain bikes as this is the famous 7Stanes country), along with many other adventurous activities. For those with young children, there are many great days out on the doorstep. If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen, from ‘the artists town’ of Kirkcudbright, to the region’s infamous Spring Fling festival, amongst many other events that take place all year round.
