Regarded by locals as one of the best beaches in the area, Heacham beach offers a wide sandy vista that is perfect for a spot of sunbathing or a morning dip, guaranteed to blow the cobwebs away. Both Heacham golf course and the course at Old Hunstanton will appeal to golf enthusiasts. Farmer Fred’s big ball-pit park and farm at Heacham Lavender is ideal place to take the children on a rainy day. There is a selection of places to eat and drink close by, should you choose to park up and head out on foot.
The bustling seaside resort of Hunstanton, packed with even more dining options, has another excellent sandy beach and lots of traditional seaside attractions, including a small fair and a Sealife Centre. The coastline is scattered with natural habitats for wildlife and birdlife, including the beautiful salt marshes, such as RSPB Tichwell Marsh Nature Reserve and the quays at Wells-next-the-Sea, and Blakeney - perfect for a great photo opportunity, and don’t forget your crabbing nets! History buffs will be pleased to hear that the Hanseatic Quarter of Old Kings Lynn, the Sandringham Estate and Holkham Hall are all within easy reach, and you can travel a little further afield and enjoy a trip to the medieval city of Norwich or the Blickling Estate.
