An immaculate two storey conversion of the old coach house set within the impressive grounds of Belchamp Hall, a stunning Queen Anne period house and home to the Raymond family since 1611. Large South facing windows bathe the oak beams and floors in abundant natural light and wonderfully connect the cottage to its beautiful surroundings. Huge leather sofas, generous farmhouse dining table, log burner and a modern kitchen all combine to create an enveloping sense of comfort and relaxation.
The cottage has its own enclosed garden and beyond which is a historic walled garden and large private estate to explore, and tennis court (the grounds and tennis court are by shared use with estate and their guests). During the 90’s Belchamp Hall (the ficitional Felsham Hall) was used by the BBC as a location for Lovejoy, the popular TV series about a roguish antiques dealer. The drama ran for over a period of 8 years between 1986 and 1994. Belchamp Hall Coach House (fictional name was Lovejoys Studio) and you can find some original extras from the film located around! Great location for visiting the local historical and picturesque towns and villages of Suffolk and Essex. Nearby villages include Lavenham, Long Melford and Clare. Also within easy reach are Sudbury – the home of the artist Gainsborough, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester – the oldest recorded town in Britain, and Newmarket for a day at the races or a visit to the National Horse Racing Museum.
Belchamp Hall Coach House can be booked with Belchamp Hall Mill (ref UKC5033), Belchamp Hall Hayloft (ref UKC5036) and Belchamp Hall Stables (ref UKC5276) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
