Blacksmith’s Cottage is a delightful, traditional stone cottage positioned in an ideal location in the village of Hawsker. Nestled between Whitby and the picturesque village of Robin Hoods Bay, it is close enough to enjoy a walk, cycle or a 5-minute drive to both locations.
Hawsker has a great family run pub that serves excellent home cooked meals and is only 50 yards from the cottage. The cottage was built in the 17th century and was originally a blacksmith’s workshop. It has been converted to a good standard of accommodation for couples and small families. A sofa bed in the living/dining room provides additional room for two extra guests.
For those wishing to take a break from driving, a frequent bus service runs to Whitby, Middleborough, Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough. Located right in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, the area offers something for everyone with varied landscape such as heather clad moorland, sweeping dales and quaint villages, not to mention the beautiful beaches found in Whitby, Sandsend and Robin Hoods Bay. The area is ideal for walkers and cyclists with numerous walks and cycle tracks right on your doorstep. Including a disused railway line and a cycle hire centre only 300 yards from the cottage that runs from Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay and beyond.
