In 2022, Borranside cottage has been lovingly refurbished throughout to a high standard whilst maintaining its charm and warm, cosy atmosphere. The fabulous kitchen has been modernised and fitted with an induction hob, dishwasher, and power tap to make enjoying a home cooked meal after a long day exploring as relaxing as possible. Underfloor heating in the bathroom adds to the luxury of the rain shower, along with a spacious double ended bath to soothe any aching muscles after hiking the surrounding mountains.
Borranside is at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, close to all lake amenities and only a 10-minute stroll into Ambleside and just a 2-minute stroll to Waterhead Bay where you will find a number of pubs and restaurants with glorious lake views as well as the Windermere Ferry Pier. This south-facing bungalow sits in a prime location across the road from Borrans Park where guests can enjoy direct access to the shores of Lake Windermere. This large expanse of green parkland fringing the water’s edge is ideal for summer picnics, a game of football or simply a leisurely stroll. Whatever the weather, the view across England’s largest lake with a back drop of the Langdales is simply mesmerising. Ambleside is well equipped for the self catering guest with a good variety of shops for supplies as well as cafes, bars and restaurants for all budgets and plenty of outdoor clothing retailers if you get caught in a shower or two.
