Brandoch Lodge is one of seven holiday cottages and is a traditional stone cottage that has been extensively renovated and refurbished while still maintaining the character of the cottage. This detached cottage is ideal for couples, friends and families to spend time together in. The large living room with comfortable leather sofa and a wood burner is a good hub for the whole group to gather. A bright and contemporary kitchen/dining room has ample dining space for eight people with a large utility/boot room leading off from the kitchen, which is ideal for storing outdoor clothing. The en-suite double bedroom on the ground floor is ideal for guests with limited mobility and there are three further double en-suite bedrooms on the first floor. All the bedrooms have beds which can either be super kingsize or twin beds on request. For al fresco dining, guests have a private decked area with gas barbecue, or you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink or morning coffee while admiring the views.
The cottages are situated at various idyllic locations spread across the estate and are perfect for families, friends, couples and single guests looking for a last minute holiday or a short break. The local supermarket delivers to the estate so you can arrange your menu before leaving home.
There are some lovely walks in the local area, as well as birdwatching or just relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquillity while surrounded by spectacular scenery. By prior arrangement with the estate, guests are able to fish for salmon in season (at cost) on one of the most highly regarded beats on the River Tay; loch fishing is also available at Two Hill Loch. The estate has a long history dating back to the early 1600s when it was owned by the Stewart family. Over the centuries many famous people have been known to have lived or stayed here including several leading Scottish literary figures including James Hogg, Sir Walter Scott’s poet friend and protégé.
For guests who enjoy being out in the great outdoors, this area of Perthshire provides walking, cycling and hill walking to suit all abilities. Various water sports can be enjoyed on Loch Tay, with kayaking and white water rafting nearby. There are several local golf courses in the area and the championship Gleneagles course is within an hour’s drive. Whilst in a rural location guests are within easy reach of the A9 with Perth, Inverness, Stirling and Edinburgh all within easy driving distance. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
