Sleights train station is half a mile away and trains run to Whitby and Middlesbrough along the stunning Esk Valley line. It is a real treat to see, hear and smell the iconic steam train puffing along from Whitby to Pickering on the North York Moors Railway. Why not catch the steam train from Whitby to the market town of Pickering, stopping off at Goathland, home to the fictional village ’Aidensfield’ in the TV programme ‘Heartbeat’? Beach 4 miles.
