This traditional detached cottage is the perfect choice for families looking to explore the Lancashire countryside, South Lakes and the Fylde Coast. It is conveniently located in the Lancashire village of Forton, just 3 miles from the popular market town of Garstang which offers an abundance of individual shops, cafés, pubs and a weekly market on a Thursday. Brookside Cottage provides a good standard of accommodation, with a great outdoor space, which has a gated area to sit in and watch the brook trickle by.
Guests can enjoy walks from the doorstep, with the picturesque Lancaster Canal only ½ a mile away for walking, cycling and fishing, or even day boat hire. There are also several fishing lakes available locally. With Scorton village nestling at the foot of the Bowland Fells just 1½ miles away, there is easy access to the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), where guests can enjoy walks on the fells or drive through the beautiful Trough of Bowland.
There is a highly rated traditional country pub serving food just 400 yards away from the cottage. A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby historic city of Lancaster, 8 miles away; here you can visit Lancaster Castle, museums or even the Butterfly House at Williamson Park. Windermere, Kendal and the South Lakes are just a 40-minute drive. The popular seaside town of Blackpool, with its beach, famous tower, Pleasure Beach, zoo and Sandcastle Water Park, is also worth a visit. Beach 18 miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 400 yards.
