Meander down the sloping gravel path to this wonderful 17th-century detached farmhouse which has been transformed into a great base for a family holiday, or group of friends, on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. On entering the house you know you’ll never want to leave. A stunning living area, complete with a galleried seating area children will love, will take your breath away with its huge stone fireplace and high vaulted ceiling. Three comfortable double bedrooms on the first floor provide ample rest space for everyone. The owner has thoughtfully provided a complementary welcome pack including wine, milk and a selection of delicious homemade cakes.
As you pass through the rooms of Higher Scarcliffe you won’t be able to resist stealing another peek at the outstanding views. Relax on the bench on the patio and savour the views, breathe in the fresh Yorkshire air and the peace, tranquillity and birdsong here. If you can tear yourself away, you won’t be short of things to do from Land Rover Experience Days available on site (by direct arrangement with the owner), or wander the extensive grounds and discover bridges over the river. You’ll also find a cycle track and lots of birds and wildlife.
If you want to get out and about, the A59 can be reached within 1 mile giving easay access to Skipton where all amenities can be found from supermarkets and a train station to a leisure centre, trendy bars and canal boat trips. Children will love the play area and Billy Bob’s Parlour at the Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream Farm just a few miles away, then continue to Grassington with its individual shops and tea rooms, or Bolton Abbey for a relaxing afternoon and woodland walks by the River Wharfe.
