Butterhole Cottage is in a truly delightful setting with fabulous views. Renovated in 2019, Butterhole Cottage is a warm and comfortable, single-storey cottage attached to the owners farmhouse. The living room benefits from a cosy wood burner and is situated to the front of the cottage making the most of the views. There is a small kitchen/dining room as well as two spacious bedrooms, perfect for enjoying a well-deserved rest.

Set in the heart of Mabie Forest, this property is in the ideal location to enjoy a variety of activities all within walking distance, including many and varied walking trails and some of the world-class 7Stanes mountain biking trails. There is even a butterfly reserve near by, as well as plenty of open space for children to run around and an adventure playground. A must for the whole family is a visit to Mabie Farm Park, nestled just below Mabie Forest where you can feed the animals and see the belted galloways, alpaca, llamas and much more. It will certainly keep you entertained all day.

Further afield this beautiful area of South West Scotland has so much more to offer from the quiet sandy coves and cliff top walks, to historic castles such as Caerlaverock and Drumlanrig. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, the area has many beautiful gardens to visit, including National Trust Threave Gardens and Logan Botanic Gardens, Scotland’s most exotic garden. A stay here would not be complete without taking a drive along the coast and having a wander round the seaside villages of Southerness, Rockcliffe and Kippford. After a day packed with adventure take a leisurely stroll from Butterhole Cottage to the local pub and enjoy a well-deserved drink. Beach 11½ miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
Butterhole Cottage can be booked together with Brae Cottage (ref UK5909) and Butterhole Farmhouse (UK13051) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
