Castlegate is a modern mid-terraced house completely refurbished in 2020. From the large open plan living/dining room, to the modern kitchen, three comfortable bedrooms and modern bathroom upstairs, this really is a lovely home from which to enjoy your holiday. Set on the fringes of the market town of Penrith, you could not be better placed to enjoy the Lake District at its best with every kind of outdoor activity on hand, the stunning Eden Valley, and even over the border into Scotland. Ullswater is a mere 10 minute drive away where you can enjoy sailing, canoeing or just take a leisurely launch trip taking in the magnificent scenery. Right in the heart of the Lake District, a 20 minute drive will take you to the bustling market town of Keswick nestled between Skiddaw and beautiful Derwentwater. Stroll through the town with its many little shops, cafés and restaurants or take a gentle walk by the shores of Derwentwater. Of course walking in the fells is a major draw to Keswick. For a more relaxed day drive into the stunning Eden Valley with its lush green countryside and traditional towns and villages, and a must is a trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway line which runs through the Eden Valley. Best of all return to Eden Cottage, park the car and just cross the road to the local pub serving fabulous food.
