We've just had a wonderful week staying in this lovely warm, cosy cottage. Beautifully equipped (even a stopper for an opened bottle of wine!), lovely welcome pack for humans, and mats, towels, bowls and treats for the dogs. Great washing machine, dryer, dishwasher etc, all fully serviced with pods, and washing up liquid, towels, soap, cleaning stuff etc is all supplied 'just in case'. For coffee lovers there's both a filter machine and a cafetiere. There's terrace furniture and a BBQ with tools as well. There's a super secure (shared with East) garden area for the dogs, as well as a secure field next door to run them (probably better in drier weather than we had!) Apart from that, hard to find anywhere to walk the dogs off the lead without getting in the car, but it wasn't a problem as we were out somewhere everyday. I did find a field across the road from the church on the last day! Supremely comfortable bed (5', not 4'6 as the details suggest), with great ensuite walk in shower, and a bath with shower attachment in the other bathroom. If we were being really critical, then the cottage is overlooked by its 'twin' - we had neighbours for the first weekend who were lovely people, but we felt we had to have the blinds down all the time (and we noticed they did too) as the windows just look into the other cottage. If you were a larger group renting both cottages then it's perfect! I would imagine in the summer the skylight in the bedroom might wake you up as there's no blind, but it wasn't a problem for us in November. It's a ten minute walk to the excellent local pub (dog friendly) - it's a narrow dark path - take a torch - alongside a busy road, but worth the walk. All in all, a wonderful base for us for the week, and we would definitely return when next down in the area. Many thanks Sue and your team.

Very enjoyable stay at Castlemans Cottage west. Cottage was very well equipped and comfortable, local pub very good for food and dog friendly. Great location for exploring the local area, Battle and Hastings were particularly enjoyable.

Been there before and liked it very much, so we were happy to come back. And we'd be delighted to go back again. Lovely situation, spotless, comfortable --- everything excellent. Slightly lower mark for local amenities, but only because it's a drive (albeit a short drive) to the nearest shop or pub. That didn't worry us in the slightest - we loved the quietness of location - but it might be something of note for folks who like to have all sorts of things on their doorstep.
