Chapel Mouse Cottage is a beautiful conversion of an old chapel set in a quiet street in the popular market town of Cockermouth. Beautifully converted in 2021 the quality finish and decoration is evident as soon as you walk through the door of Chapel Mouse Cottage. Downstairs there is a modern, newly fitted kitchen and open plan living/dining. Upstairs there are two bedrooms The twin room has images of a "Setmurthy Herdwick" and the double a "Rannerdale Herdwick" both painted by a local Maryport artist with some of the original beams from its days as a chapel and a shower room with walk-in shower. The popular Cumbrian town of Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, is just a short walk away from Chapel Mouse Cottage. In fact, the National Trust Wordsworth House is just a few minutes walk.
Your nearest supermarket and a couple of pubs serving great food and local cask ales are also a few minutes walk away. The main town centre is also easily reached on foot. Cockermouth is a thriving market town full of hidden surprises at every turn. It boasts a great selection of pubs, quaint restaurants, micro-breweries, local craft shops, independent coffee houses, delicatessens, speciality shops and of course, well known retailers and branded stores too. If you like culture, Kirkgate Arts shows movies, arts and drama. Fancy a swim? The leisure centre is also nearby as well as local cycle hire.
