Children will love the Northumberland Zoo which is only half a mile away, or within walking distance for those who enjoy walking. Burgham Park Golf course is only half a mile ideal for the golfers in the family. Warkworth is a lovely village with a hillside castle, bespoke shops and little cafes. Nearby Alnwick is home to the Duke and Duchess where you can visit the majestic castle used in some Harry Potter scenes, perhaps have a broomstick lesson (in season) or visit the Duchess’s enchanting water gardens then meander the streets soaking up the history.
Nearby Morpeth is a very pretty, historic market town with some wonderful bars and restaurants and an Edwardian Shopping Arcade to explore as well as river boats down on the River Wansbeck.
