Church View is a nice house in historic Wick with views of one of the town’s churches. Staying at Church View is a great choice for those holidaying in the Northern Highlands it is a superb base for exploring the far north of Scotland. Being in Wick is great because it’s on the North Coast 500 and offers so much history to soak up whilst staying in the town. Wander the streets and easily imagine what the place was like in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries through various fishing boom and busts. There are many places to eat and drink nowadays and great places to visit like the Heritage Centre and local whisky distillery. Wick also offers horse riding, truly excellent golf at the local links, beautiful Reiss Sands to wander along and both sea and fly fishing. There’s so much to do within a few miles of the town.
The real advantage though is being on the North Coast 500, Church View is an excellent alternative to rushing around the route and inevitably missing the many amazing places to see and explore. Spend at least a few nights in Wick and you’ll be rewarded. Spend some time visiting hidden local harbours, exploring clifftop castles, touring the interior roads along the Halladale and Helmsdale rivers, and seeing John O’Groats, Duncansby Head as well as nipping over to Orkney. This area gives you the opportunity to discover amazing things in the far north east of Scotland. The accommodation is of a good standard with two double bedrooms, an open-plan living/dining/kitchen space, and a double rain fall shower room. There’s a small enclosed garden with a seating area too. Beach 4 miles.
