Betty’s Byre is a delightful barn conversion which nestles in a secluded rural area in Easby, in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire. It is situated on a working farm but has its own separate driveway and entrance. It has been finished off to a good standard with tasteful decor and furnishings throughout. The open plan living area gives the property a spacious, welcoming feel with stylish leather sofas, a high backed fireside chair, rocking chair and easy to clean flooring. Original beams add to its character and charm and the wood burner is perfect for relaxing in front of on a chilly evening. The underfloor heating system always ensures a cosy, warm welcome to all guests as does the welcome pack which includes tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, bread and some scrumptious cookies or cake. The cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Coast.
The area is surrounded in stunning scenery and is ideal for keen ramblers and cyclists as it overlooks Cringle Moor and the famous Wainstones on the Cleveland Way. Other spectacular walks can be found close by at Roseberry Topping, Kildale (Captain Cook’s Monument) and Carlton Bank. The beautiful picturesque village of Great Ayton is only a couple of miles away and is steeped in history especially with its connections with Captain Cook. There is a museum in the town that used to be Captain Cook’s schoolroom. Tuck into a refreshing Suggitts ice cream on the river bank of the River Leven. It is an ideal location for a relaxing picnic. The historic market town of Stokesley is only a couple of miles away with its distinguished wide cobbled streets lined with many shops, pubs and restaurants and lots of interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. 9 hole golf course, driving range, leisure centre and swimming baths nearby. Travelling slightly further afield you can appreciate other beautiful areas within the National Park. The Esk Valley Railway allows you to get on board a steam train. Visit Grosmont, Goathland (Heartbeat country) or explore the market town of Helmsley and the pretty coastal resorts of Robinhoods Bay, Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby for a trip to the seaside. Shop 2½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Betty’s Byre can be booked together with Rupert’s Stable (CC233098) to accommodate up to 10 guests.
