The village of Bootle is a quiet hamlet with a local store. It sits less than a mile away from the unspoilt scenery on one side and the fells on the other, with the impressive peaks of Black Combe and Whitfell. It is the ideal spot for walking and cycling enthusiasts that want to see some of the less trodden routes of this unspoilt region. However, if you still crave the tourist hotspots of the Lakes then Coniston Water and Lake Windermere are less than an hour’s drive away, as are other attractions such as a safari zoo, an aquarium, steam engine rides, escape rooms, Go Ape, the Motor Museum and the list goes on, there is something for everyone from this little base in the Lakes. Beach 5 miles. Pub and restaurant 100 yards.
