Nestled in the village of Homersfield, this delightful country cottage is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city while being close to the beautiful Suffolk and Norfolk coasts. A small village on the banks of the River Waveney in Suffolk, Homersfield is home to the historic Grade II Homersfield Bridge, which was built in 1869. The property has an amazing book full of the village’s history.
This charming cottage was fully renovated in 2023 to a very good standard. On entering the property, you walk into the cozy living room/dinner with two comfy sofas, a Sky TV, and a wood burner, perfect for putting your feet up in front of you with a glass of wine on a cold winter’s night. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a range cooker and wine cooler. The door to the garden also leads to the annex, which comprises a double sofa bed, TV, and wet room. Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms, the master with a super king-size bed and Sky TV and the other with a king-size and single-day bed; there is also room for a travel cot (not provided). The bathroom has a shower cubicle and rolltop bath, ideal for soaking in after a long walk. The beautiful south-facing garden is fully enclosed with a BBQ and seating area. Dogs are welcome, and there are lovely walks right outside the property.
If you do not feel like cooking, there is a dog-friendly pub with a beautiful outside garden serving food just a 1-minute walk past the village green. A 5-minute walk over the bridge takes you to a café serving breakfast and lunch. Harleston, with independent shops, cafés, pubs, and takeaways, is just 5 minutes’ drive away. Captain Cook canoes hire paddleboards and kayaks for sport-minded guests, and the recreation park has plenty for the children to do, including a zip wire, bike track, and outdoor gym area. Just 6 miles away is the popular Oasis Camel Park, or go a bit further, and you will find Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park. The stunning Suffolk coastal town of Southwold is only 30 minutes away, where you can go on an Adnams brewery tour and tasting, shop in an array of independent shops, or enjoy fish and chips by the sea. Beach 18 miles. Pub and restaurant 150 yards.
