On the first floor you have the family bathroom, a double bedroom, and bedroom with a double bed, and a single. Up the narrow and steep stairs off the large bedroom is the loft room; this has Velux windows with views of the fields of cows behind Cricketer’s cottage. In the pretty cottage garden, is a summer annexe. This houses an L shaped sofa bed (double) and French doors to the garden and a further bathroom- with walk-in shower, toilet and washing machine.
Sitting between Thornham and Hunstanton, the pretty village of Holme-Next-The-Sea has a traditional pub, a stunning nature reserve and beach, perfect for family picnics and birdwatching on the marshes. Cricketer’s Cottage is just 6 miles from Wild Ken Hill which is where Spring Watch is filmed! There is plenty to explore in the local area. Brancaster is just 8 miles away, a pretty, coastal village with great sailing, and boats to the nature reserve. The area is also littered with sites of historical significance including the Holkham, Houghton and Sandringham Estates, Castle Acre and Castle Rising, Peckover House and the Hanseatic Quarter of Old Kings Lynn.
Nature lovers will find all sorts of visitors right there in the garden and surrounding area and RSPB Titchwell Marshes and Snettisham close by too. Wells is also within easy reach- a seaside town with a beautiful beach. At Snettisham Deer Farm you can bottle feed lambs (at the right time of year), see farm animals, and go on a deer safari. Watatunga Wildlife Reserve in Watlington offers a guided safari by a golf buggy! Take a trip to Sandringham House, the magnificent holiday home of the Royal Family since 1861, just a short drive away. Or head further inland, within an hour’s drive, to the Norfolk Broads National Park and the medieval city of Norwich, with an abundance of shops, fine dining, and a castle museum to explore.
