Scarborough benefits from two bays; South Bay is a traditional seaside resort with amusements, cafés and shops, whereas North Bay is quieter and more relaxed. At the far end of North Bay is the Sea Life Centre where you can walk through an underwater tunnel and see the rescue seals. Halfway between the two bays, the castle stands proud on the cliffs above. Further down the coast is Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington and up north is historic Whitby and quaint Robin Hoods Bay. There are some wonderful days out nearby for children including Flamingoland theme park and zoo, as well as ziplining in the tree tops at Dalby Forest, or even the inflatable assault course at the North Yorkshire Water Park. For lovers of the outdoors there are some wonderful walking and cycling trails to discover in this area, as well as lots of water sports such as joining a local surf school or going paddle boarding.
