Dipper Cottage is a traditional mid-terraced fisherman’s cottage situated within a gentle stroll of the harbour and the fishing village of Seahouses. The accommodation is beautifully furnished and immaculately presented throughout. The entrance brings you to the fresh kitchen which leads directly into the open plan living/dining area where a wood burner ensures a cosy welcome regardless of the season. Seahouses offers a wide array of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops. The Farne Islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies, and boat trips run from the nearby harbour. Horse riding is available on the cusp of the village and there’s an impressive golf course on the links close by. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty sandy beaches and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne can be viewed, locally known as Holy Island and the birthplace of Christianity in the UK. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds making this location a haven for bird watchers. Beadnell Bay is located only 2 miles south from Dipper Cottage. It is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts including sailing, sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving and is often described as the jewel in Northumberland’s seaside crown. The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its Grand Cascade Waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Beach 300 yards. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub 50 yards.
