There are plenty of fun things to do including Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world and Puzzling Place, a hands on attraction with mind-boggling optical illusions. For a bit of culture, why not visit Theatre By The Lake offering award-winning drama and arts as well as a delightful café and lakeside location. Speaking of lakes, you are just 7 miles from Derwent Water and 8 miles from Thirlmere, two of the largest lakes and can boast some of the most stunning scenery around these parts.
