End Cottage is just that! The very last cottage at the end of a lane, in the beautiful Wolds village of Tibthorpe. There is no passing traffic and with views across the Yorkshire Wolds, this tranquil, renovated, period cottage, adjacent to the owner’s home, offers excellent levels of accommodation and guest comfort. Every effort has been made to ensure that guests’ expectations will be met and visitors will return home with great memories and wishing to return. Upon entering the cottage there is 1 step down into a small entrance hall. Leading off from this is a large sitting room with a traditional multi-fuel burner. This room is flooded with natural light from windows in the roof and has views across the garden and access into the conservatory, which then leads out into the enclosed garden. With deep sofas and a large flatscreen TV, this really is the perfect location to relax and unwind in front of the fire after a long day exploring the local area.

The large modern kitchen/dining room has all the facilities the chef in the family would need to help prepare delicious home cooked meals. There is also access to the conservatory from the kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a bedroom with either a kingsize bed or twin beds, a wonderful full length feature window overlooking the garden, and an en-suite bathroom. On the first floor is a large second bedroom, also equipped with either a kingsize or twin beds. Twin aspect windows flood the room with light as well as providing some lovely, long views. The room could be called ’quirky’, since no two walls are parallel. A lovely en-suite shower room completes the facilities. Also on the first floor is a small, mezzanine area, utilised as a ’quiet corner’ and offering a place to relax and read, meditate or simply enjoy the peace and quiet. It is equipped with a relaxing chair and a selection of books. The views are also pretty special too!

The enclosed garden has a lovely summerhouse with a separate patio area close to the house, where you can sit and eat an early breakfast in the sun or enjoy al fresco dining after a day exploring the Yorkshire Wolds. The garden is a wildlife paradise. Bird feeders bring a constant parade of small garden birds which are easily watched from any of the numerous rear windows or from the comfort of a seat in the conservatory. A greater spotted woodpecker will sometimes be seen, helping himself to peanuts. More unusual visitors are the long-tailed tits, whose high-pitched calls are usually the first sign of their proximity. Hedgehogs, squirrels, partridge, pheasant and rabbits regularly visit the garden, plus a rather bossy chicken from the farm next door. Please try not to disturb the wildlife, bearing in mind especially that the hedgehogs are normally active at dusk and dawn. Motorcycle or cycle storage is available in the garage. The area is very popular with motorcyclists, and is reputed to offer some of the best rides in the country. There are also many challenging cycling routes, as shown by the return of the Tour de Yorkshire on 2nd-5th May 2019. If your interests are walking, cycling or birdwatching, or you just love the East Riding of Yorkshire, your every need will be well catered for in End Cottage. The beautiful Yorkshire coastline and the seaside town of Bridlington is only 17 miles away. The tower cliffs and RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs is also within easy reach. There is also easy access to York, Malton, Beverley and Hull (UK City of Culture 2017). The Yorkshire Wolds are dotted with picturesque villages and pretty market towns which can be explored from the miles of public footpaths, bridleways or from one of the many cycle routes. End Cottage really does have something for everyone. Beach 17 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
