The Barn is a charming semi-detached, barn conversion where you can take off your boots and coats in the hallway as you enter ready for your holiday. There is a rustic kitchen with dining area giving the property a real cottage feel, and a spacious living area which is beautifully presented with stylish contemporary furnishings and access out to the courtyard garden to enjoy on a balmy summer’s eve or eat al fresco. As the day draws to a close, head back inside to prepare for bed in the immaculate family bathroom, elegantly tiled throughout and featuring a walk-in shower. Guests can choose from three double bedrooms all with a different design but the same comfy beds and crisp linen.
In the immediate surrounding areas you will find traditional country pubs, cafés, a fish and chip shop, butcher and a deli along with the beautiful Whitworth Park and Institute with Peak Rail heritage railway running through Darley Dale. Just a short drive along the Derwent Valley, and on the A6 you will find Chatsworth House, the magnificent seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire enjoying the most stunning parkland and scenery. Also nearby is Haddon Hall, a former seat of the Dukes of Rutland and a beautiful example of a Tudor Manor house.
Venture further afield to the market town of Bakewell, home to the delicious Bakewell Pudding, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the tranquil flowers and greenery at Bath Gardens or marvel at the architecture of the stone Bakewell Bridge, towering over the flowing waters of the River Wye. Lace up your walking boots and head off on foot to explore the scenic landscape of The Peak District National Park, boasting cycling and hiking routes to suit all abilities, passing through open moorland, charming farmland and wooded valleys, as well as quaint Derbyshire villages.
