Awaken to the delightful countryside while enjoying a peaceful rural position in this pretty, comfortably furnished detached stone cottage, converted from a cowshed, boasts walking (via a public footpath across farmland) and birdwatching from the doorstep. With its own garden, it is set with three other properties around a courtyard, backed by the Preseli Mountains. There are over 700 holly trees in the grounds with red, yellow and blackberries.
Please note Y Bwthyn has shared Wi-Fi that can be accessed in the yard outside but does not work within the property (details can be found within the property), and due to being sourced from a spring/borehole on-site the water pressure may vary.
Located close by to the seaside town of Trefdraeth, which translates as Beach Town. And 5 miles from Newport, boasting two sandy beaches, the Parrog and Newport Sands, separated by the River Nevern. One of the most striking hills in Pembrokeshire is Carningli which translates as Mountain of Angels, with its brooding presence over the town. When sitting on the property grounds you can watch the sun setting over Carningli’s profile against the red sky, making it look rather like the volcano it once was.
Walk from the cottage to the adjoining Coed Tŷ Canol National Nature Reserve featuring gnarled and twisted oaks, rock outcrops, old stone walls and an Iron Age fort. Woodland cover has flowed here since the Ice Age, already old when the Pentre Ifan stone burial chamber was built nearly 5500 years ago. It is one of the richest sites for lichens anywhere in Britain and Ireland. Simply enjoy the grounds around the property, offering many secret gardened areas to be enjoyed.
The property is adjacent to Y Bwthyn. The garden of the main house is the home of The National Holly Collection.
Newport, with sailing, walking, shops and golf, is 4 miles. Fishguard 9 miles. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles. Ty Bach can be booked together with Y Bwthyn (OCW) and Penfiedr (UK10412) to accommodate up to 14 guests.
