This lovely detached cottage, set in the scattered community of Fernilea, enjoys breathtaking views across the waters of Loch Harport and on towards the Cuillin mountain range. Fernilea Cottage has been equipped and stylishy furnished to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. Both Talisker Distillery and Visitor Centre, and a pub with regular live music nights, are only a short distance from the cottage. The Minginish Peninsula has much to offer with superb walking for all abilities, along with the Cuillins on the doorstep for the more experienced climber. Talisker Bay, the unspoilt and beautiful Glenbrittle beach and the Fairy Pools are well worth exploring.
To the west of the island, take a trip to Dunvegan Castle and the Coral Beaches, or venture slightly further up to the Waternish Peninsula with its unspoilt beaches and beautiful scenery. The main town of Portree is a very popular destination. Here you will see the brightly coloured houses which overlook the busy harbour, where you can watch the local fishermen land their catches. To the north is the Trotternish Peninsula, which boasts some of Skye’s most dramatic scenery and rugged coastline, and to the south you can explore the area called ‘The Garden of Skye’, with Armadale Castle and gardens a must on your list of places to visit. Amongst the many outdoor pursuits available are a very large variety of water sports, sea trips, mountain biking and cycling, climbing and walking, and sea angling. Skye is famous for its stunning scenery and changing light, which many artists capture so well. Happy memories will undoubtedly be made on your holiday to the island of Skye and Fernilea Cottage.
