Ferry View is set within a perfect location for families and friends to discover this stunning part of West Wales, within the heart of St Dogmaels. It offers beautiful ever-changing estuary views over the famous River Teifi and is just a stone’s throw from the pontoon and a traditional Welsh pub and restaurant specialising in local produce and fresh local fish.
Visit Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales, and retains the machinery installed in 1820. You can watch the miller make the flour and then enjoy a coffee and cake in the 12th century café next to St Dogmaels. An award-winning local produce market is held here every Tuesday and is well worth a visit.
From your doorstep, you can also discover the glorious Wales Coast Path. From the village, you can join the coast path and walk into the market town of Cardigan, with a theatre, castle, and many dining options to explore, or in the other direction Poppet Sands, a truly beautiful golden sandy beach perfect for swimming, early morning strolls or sunbathing.
Ferry View is nestled close to the River Teifi with most rooms benefiting from estuary views. Enjoy waking up after a good night’s sleep to lots of birdlife. Each room is bright and airy and has been well decorated with local art. The spacious dining room is perfect for formal dining or relaxing with a good book in front of the picture window and beautiful views.
The sunny garden has a BBQ and patio, with additional outdoor seating to the side overlooking the river. There is a washdown area to clean off after a day at the beach and plenty of storage space for kayaks, paddle boards, and drying wetsuits too.
A 10-minute drive away is the Welsh Wildlife Centre, which is one of the best wetlands reserves in Wales, where a huge diversity of wildlife is waiting to be discovered. You may prefer to explore the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre where you can learn how to spot dolphins, porpoises, and Atlantic grey seals.
Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and Carmarthenshire can be explored from this location, and the delights of Oakwood, Folly Farm, and The Blue Lagoon Water Park make for fantastic days out from Ferry View. Keen golfers can enjoy the spectacular views over the dramatic coastline from both Cardigan and Newport Golf Clubs.
