Beech Tree Cottage at Blackaton Manor Farm is a two-bedroom cottage set within Dartmoor National Park high up at 1,100 feet near the village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Peacefully situated down a private drive on a 400-acre working beef and sheep farm, it boasts beautiful views of the surrounding moorland and tor-topped hills. The farm is just a 5-minute drive from the Bronze Age settlement of Grimspound, and a 15-minute drive from the most famed and beloved beauty spots of Hay Tor, Hound Tor and Dartmeet. Whether on foot or on bike, there are endless routes straight from the doorstep, and the more adventurous may wish to tackle the rugged and dramatic Dartmoor Tors.
The ground floor benefits from a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining room, perfect for gathering with your friends and family around the dining table for a celebratory meal. The South West Coast Path and the local beaches of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Dawlish are around a 40-minute drive away. Day trips to the beaches in the South Hams, such as Blackpool Sands and Goodrington Beach, also offer a great alternative for a fun day out. There are also the cathedral city of Exeter and Plymouth and Torbay, all of which are within an hour’s drive and even a day trip to the North Devon Coast can be enjoyed.
