Just 4 miles away is the pretty town of Beccles, made up of small market squares and winding streets, nestled by the River Waveney, gateway to the Broads. Enjoy a river trip, hire a day boat, or canoe to explore the miles of waterways at your own pace. Fishing available along riverbank, and enjoy the wonderful walks that follow the beautiful southern waterway. There are plenty of quirky independent shops, restaurants and cafés, along with festivals and entertainment held throughout the year. Remember to bring your swims and visit the open air Lido swimming pool (booking is recommended). Visit nearby Lowestoft for sandy beaches and seaside amusements, or head to Southwold for a traditional seaside resort, just 16 minutes’ drive away.
