Located in the crofting community of Bornesketaig, north of Uig, Frank’s lies just a short walk from Camus Mor, a lovely sheltered bay where you can launch small boats or kayaks, and watch seals, a wide range of seabirds, basking sharks or just enjoy the breathtaking views and sunsets. The area is linked to the historic, romantic legend of Bonnie Prince Charlie and Flora MacDonald, who is buried in Kilmuir Cemetery beside the Museum of Island Life. Whitewave Activity Centre is within easy reach and offers a wide range of activities including kayaking, archery, abseiling/mountain climbing. The dramatic landscape of the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr have excellent hillwalking. The Staffin Museum is a must as it contains excellent collections of local geological and fossil specimens.

The Faerie Glen is an excellent place to take children, the glen’s geological formations are fascinating. Portree, the island’s capital, is only 30 minutes drive away, where you will find restaurants, gift shops, swimming pool, climbing wall and boat trips to see the sea eagles. There is so much to discover throughout the island including historic sites, castles, brochs, gardens, whisky distillery, boat trips, pony trekking and much more.
