Freya Cottage is tucked away in quiet little courtyard near the church in Flamborough, with the owner living close by. This detached property is centrally located for the shops, pubs and restaurants, and is within walking distance of the beach. Flamborough Head lies between Bridlington and Filey and is a bird watchers paradise. Birds travel in their thousands to Flamborough every year, so you can see the interesting array of sea birds that cling to the chalk cliffs here. The comical puffins are the most popular birds that nest here, and Bempton Cliffs is one of the best places to see them, especially between mid-April and mid-July. The village of Flamborough is a traditional fisherman’s village and although some fishing still takes place, the village now relies to a greater extent on tourism. Danes Dyke is close by, and a lovely walk along the cliffs takes you to this wonderful nature reserve.
The bustling harbour of Bridlington is only a 10-minute drive away and is still a busy fishing harbour, but is popular for its sandy beaches and rock pools. This very traditional, family seaside resort offers donkey rides, pirate boats and wonderful sandcastles. Sewerby Hall is set in over 50 acres of grounds where there’s a small zoo, gardens, playground and a wonderful cliff top picnic area. You can also catch the land train from here down to Bridlington. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
Freya Cottage (ref UK2289) can be booked with Christine Cottage (ref UK10703) to accommodate up to 12
