Situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and the pretty village of Ludham, Fuggle is great as a couples’ getaway. With an open plan living space, its lovely for cooking up a storm and relaxing in the evening after a day’s adventure. Ludham, which has a shop, post office, butchers and pub has easy access to great fishing opportunities, with pedalo hire and a village green to just simply sit awhile and soak up the boating activity and wildlife. Excellent location for walkers and cyclists where you can enjoy nearby trails and footpaths that surround you. For fisherman, this part of the Broads offers some of the best coarse fishing anywhere in the UK, seasonal and licence required.
Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, is just 12 minutes’ drive, with riverside restaurants, supermarket, shops, daily boat hire and river trips to enjoy. Wroxham Barns, located on the edge of the village, has a petting farm, craft barns, small fair and restaurants. The riverside village of Horning has its selection of tea shops, restaurants and pubs. Horning Ferry is on the outskirts of the village where you will find a marina, leisure club and pub. There are excellent sandy beaches at Hemsby, Winterton-on-Sea and Sea Palling, backed with dunes, under 10 miles away.
Alternative days out include the fine city of Norwich, with its cathedrals, castle, museums, theatre and vast array of cafés and a magnet for shoppers. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area, which include Felbrigg Hall, Garden and Park, one of the finest Jacobean houses in East Anglia, the beautifully landscaped Sheringham Park and the magnificent Blickling Hall with its woodland and lakeside walks. Beach 8¾ miles.
