This stone built cottage is quirky and oozes comfort, character and style. The living room has beams, exposed stonework and a fabulous inglenook fireplace that extends across a full wall, perfect for a cosy winters night in. Step outside and the owners have created a space at the side of the house where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors whether rain or shine.
In the nearby village of Aysgarth, just a 5-minute drive away, you will find a licensed garage and country store. There are two pubs in the village, both serving excellent food and local beers. The wonderfully stocked delicatessen in nearby Leyburn and the creamery at Wensleydale are a food lover’s dream, as are many of the pubs, all serving wonderful local produce. Thornton Rust provides a convenient base for enjoying the great outdoors with many walks accessible from the property and the surrounding villages. From a gentle stroll through sheep filled fields and woodland along the banks of the River Ure, to the more challenging walks to the top of the nearby landmark Penhill. For the more active and keen cyclists, the local roads form part of the annual Tour de Yorkshire.

Visit Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle, The Forbidden Corner, complete with follies and surprises, tunnels and chambers all set within a fabulous 4-acre garden, a perfect day out for families.
