Central for touring Argyll and known as the “Gateway to the Isles”, with ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa, Lismore. There are plenty of outdoor sports to enjoy locally, with a kayaking centre just yards away, which launches into Oban Bay, directly in front of the apartment. In keeping with its reputation as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, there are some excellent restaurants, cafés, and pubs nearby, for relaxing after a pleasant day out exploring all the wonderful scenery and interesting attractions which Argyll has to offer. There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just two miles’ drive along the coastal road. Dunollie, Dunstaffnage and Kilchurn Castles are some of the nearby castles to visit as part of a day’s sightseeing. Further afield but within an hour’s drive, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Glencoe, take a trip to Fort William to see Ben Nevis or take a visit to Inveraray to enjoy the Castle or infamous Jail.
