Set in the centre of Ainstable within the Eden Valley, this sweet and cosy 200 year old semi-detached cottage is ideally located for touring the unspoilt Eden Valley, the Lake District, the Pennines, the Scottish Borders and Hadrian’s Wall. The well equipped cottage has a contemporary kitchen and bathroom but retains traditional features such as an inglenook fireplace and beams in the living room. Ghyll Foot Cottage is approximately 10 miles from both historic Penrith and Carlisle where you can find castles, museums and shopping. The area is rich in history with plenty to explore. Ainstable itself has a popular bar and restaurant only a few hundred yards away. The nearby village of Armathwaite also benefits from two pubs with excellent reputations for food and drink. Armathwaite is also a stop on the famous Carlisle-Settle train journey renowned for some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. If you would rather explore those landscapes on foot though there is plenty of great walking in the area. Shop and pub 1½ miles, restaurant ¼ mile.
