Glas Doire Lodge is a detached, spacious and well equipped property, set in a secluded spot in spectacular Glen Roy with open views over the countryside. With the property being all on the ground floor and having wheelchair access, a wet room complete with pull-down shower seat, a shower chair with grab rails and another separate shower stool, this property is well-equipped for those who maybe less mobile.
The lodge is located in a working, crofting township, where sheep and cattle roam freely in the winter time and graze the hillsides in the summer. Glen Roy is a National Nature Reserve and is most well known for the ‘parallel roads’, a geological feature dating back to the Ice Age. This is a fabulous area for walking, bird watching or just simply enjoying the peace and quiet.
Lochaber offers world championship mountain bike trails, six day motorcycle events, kayaking, mountaineering, canyoning, skiing and long distance walking on the Great Glen Way. The area also has numerous visitor attractions, including the Ben Nevis Distillery, the West Highland Museum, Neptune’s Staircase on the Caledonian Canal, and the ’Hogwart’s Express’ steam train which travels up to Mallaig. Climb Ben Nevis, enjoy boat trips on Loch Linnhe, take day trips out west to Arisaig and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, or catch a game of shinty. The area has so much to offer; dramatic landscapes, sunsets, dark skies and much more, so come, explore, relax and enjoy. Beach 20 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Glas Dorie Lidfe can be booked together with Bothan a’ Bhile (ref W43354, ¼ mile away) to accommodate up to 8 guests.
