Arkholme is just a few miles from the motorway making it a perfect place to stay if you plan to explore The Yorkshire Dales, South Lake District and Lancashire. Surrounded by these local hot spots you will be sure to have plentiful days out. The cottages are just 6 miles from the beautiful market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, which offers all the amenities such as supermarkets, independent gift shops, restaurants, local pubs and cafés. There are lots of great walks in the area. Arnside and Silverdale, which form a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are within 12 miles.
For the more adventurous, Warton Crag is 8 miles away and provides opportunities for hiking, climbing and abseiling. Warton is also home to Leighton Hall, a historic house with pretty gardens and just down the road is the Leighton Moss RSPB nature reserve. Other places of interest nearby include Morecambe, 11 miles, Lancaster and Ingleton, both 12 miles. Just over 30 minutes’ drive will take you to Grange-over-Sands, Cartmel or Kendal, and within an hour you can be exploring Lake Windermere.
