Bartlett’s is a characterful two-bedroom property. On the ground floor you have an open plan living area, with the kitchen, lounge and dining area all together beneath a high beamed ceiling. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as the shower room. Up on the first floor you have a family bedroom with both a double and a single bed with a vaulted ceiling.
The owners have endeavoured to ensure that every guest has a wonderful stay, with a beautiful on-site swimming pool, which is kept at a comfortable 28oC. You can start each day with an invigorating swim, or wind down in an evening in the clear warm water. There is also a sauna in the pool room which can be used at an additional cost. Besides the pool room you have a BBQ area with picnic benches and elevated views over the surrounding countryside. This destination is a haven for wildlife, where you can catch glimpses of deer as they venture from the woodland. Also on site you have a games room, which has pool table as well as table tennis and a selection of books and board games, which are sure to keep you entertained.
The cottage is a couple of miles outside of the peaceful village of Cloughton, which has two friendly local pubs, serving lovely homemade meals. The nearest coastal spot is Hayburn Wyke, where you have a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th-century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts in front of a roaring open fire. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, taking in Ravenscar and Robin Hood’s Bay on the way towards the seafaring town of Whitby.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having a welcoming base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure. For family days out in Scarborough you have the Alpamare water park as well as the sea life centre. Or inland you have Flamingoland theme park and zoo.
