Briggswath is just along the river Esk from the historical coastal town of Whitby. Along the riverbank you have a garden centre with a Victorian café as well as boat and canoe hire. The river attracts a host of wildlife, from leaping salmon and heron to otters and kingfishers if you are lucky enough to spot them. Children are sure to enjoy feeding the ducks or riding the miniature steam train or the indoor play area. Please note these attractions are seasonal and may be closed. The nearby coastal town of Whitby is not to be missed, with quirky cobbled streets, boats bobbing in the harbour, as well the iconic abbey up on the cliff. Beach 3 miles.
