Access to the nature reserve, Danes Dyke, is just along the road and offers beautiful woodland walks leading down to the sandy beach. To the north of the village, the 400-foot high cliffs are home to one of the largest colonies of nesting sea birds in England, whilst South Landing has some fascinating natural trails. A visit in May to see the puffins is a must!
The stately homes of Burton Agnes, Burton Constable and Sledmere House are also within travelling distance as are the popular seaside resorts of Filey and Scarborough. A little further afield are the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, the stunning North York Moors National Park, the historic city of York and market town of Beverley.
