The well-equipped kitchen/dining room overlooks the enclosed garden, where on warmer nights you can sit on the patio and enjoy al-fresco dining. In the evenings you can cosy up on the comfortable sofa and catch a film on the TV, or if you fancy you can venture out and sample real Lakeland ale in one of the many local bars.
Just a short level walk leads you to the sides of the lake, where you can admire the spectacular surrounding scenery, as well as enjoying the local galleries filled with superb pieces of local artwork. You’ll be just a short drive away from some of the most well-known Central Fells, along with many easier and gentler paths, with stunning scenic views including the nearby Grasmere and Rydal Water circuit. Traditional events such as the Rushbearing and Grasmere Sports and Show still take place during the summer months, whilst the Wordsworth connection continues with St Oswald’s churchyard, where beneath the yews, the poet and his family graves can be found.
If you wish you can leave the car and take the open top bus that stops at the end of the lane, it offers unlimited stops along its route providing you with a perfect and enjoyable way to see the sights. Beach 25 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
