Halfway House enjoys a riverbank setting and is just a short way from the entrance to the Langdale Valley at Clappersgate, only 2 miles from Ambleside. Within a small complex of just four properties and set just off the road between Ambleside and Skelwith Bridge, Halfway House is in a super position for exploring, with an abundance of walks and cycle paths within a short distance of the property. With parts of the house dating back to the early 17th century, the former toll house with original features, too numerous to mention, and also has a wood burner. The property has recently been refurbished. Despite the close proximity to Ambleside, it is advisable to drive due to a lack of footpath along the road. However, for those more able wishing to experience lovely views, it is possible to walk over Loughrigg Fell to Ambleside from a path beginning directly opposite the house.
