Harry’s Den is newly refurbished but retains its traditional features. The property benefits from a recent full makeover using Farrow and Ball neutral colours and warm furnishings. The living room is spacious and boasts views overlooking the castle walls. The bedroom is a good size with lots of character, features an inglenook-style fireplace and has French doors leading onto the paved courtyard. The modern kitchen is well-equipped and overlooks the garden area.

Harry’s Den benefits from a lovely south/west facing fully enclosed private walled courtyard with pretty flowering shrubs. French doors lead directly from the bedroom to this quaint, beautiful, sheltered area. There is a table on the patio with four chairs and a parasol. Two steps lead up to the raised courtyard which is a perfect quiet space to read a book, enjoy a morning coffee, to plan your day ahead or even al fresco dining. There is free on street parking for guests using a permit which will be provided for you, along with a free parking permit provided for guests who wish to visit Alnmouth Beach.

The property is located only a minutes’ walk from Alnwick Castle, and Harry’s Den is a superb place to stay for those wanting to experience this magical, historic castle which has been the setting for many famous films/shows including Robin Hood, Downton Abbey and Harry Potter! The bustling town of Alnwick offers a wide range of amenities including shops, restaurants, a cinema, theatre and a leisure centre.

The beautiful city of Edinburgh is just an hour’s train journey away from Harry’s Den via Alnmouth train station. There is also good access to Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches, picturesque harbour villages and castles of historic interest. The apartment is close to many picturesque walks and a 5-minute stroll to The Pastures park run. Alnwick has a bus station that is a short walk from Harry’s Den and you could choose to have a car free day and catch the local buses that connect Alnwick to the coast, villages and tourist attractions. Beach 5½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
