Situated in the bustling port town of Stranraer with a large variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, this spacious cottage is within easy walking distance of the town centre and sea. Stranraer is a great centre for the serious walker and is skirted by the Southern Upland Way. Take a walk around ’the Toon’ and along the shore, visiting the museum and the Castle of St. John where the view from the roof is magnificent. Follow the Town Trail and discover for yourself.
For those who enjoy a garden walk, three famous gardens in the area are open to the public - Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Logan. Explore the Rhins Peninsula with Portpatrick to the west, Corsewall Lighthouse to the north and the Mull of Galloway Lighthouse at the southern tip.
Children love Agnew Park with its pedal boats, train rides, adventure playground and crazy golf, or visit the leisure centre for swimming. Golfers can enjoy 18 holes of golf at Creachmore, Wigtown Country Club at Glenluce, or Dunskey at Portpatrick.
Stranraer has several beaches, but travel a few miles out of the town to Sandhead and New England Bay for miles of sand, or all around the sea loch for pebbly beaches. Day trips can be taken from Cairnryan, 6 miles, to Belfast for a day trip. Beach 500 yards. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
