The Highland Lookout is situated on the second floor with great views over Loch Linnhe and the surrounding hills. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all open plan with views and the bathroom with overhead shower and the bedrooms are towards the back of the property.
The Apartment is within the town of Fort William which is known as the ’Outdoor Capital’ of the UK and is a popular base for breaks to explore the Highlands. The yearly mountain bike championships take place in Fort William at the Ben Nevis Range. There you will find a chairlift taking you up to the wonderful Snowgoose Restaurant & Bar where you can enjoy views from the Gondola Top station, 650m up on the mountain of Aonack Mor. On the outskirts is the Ben Nevis Distillery which has been crafting Scottish Whisky since 1825 at the foot of Britain’s highest mountain. Why not book a tour and sample their selection of whiskies. You also have the Highland Soap Company with stunning views over Ben Nevis. A wonderful location to visit for a day of factory tours, shopping and soap-making workshops.
In Fort William itself there is a good selection of pubs andrestaurants and an old-fashioned cinema. But for those that are looking for something more energetic, there are munros to climb, starting with Ben Nevis! There is a terrific cycle path that you can ride on up to the Caledonian Canal or down towards Oban. The harbour town of Oban is known as the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’ and is definitely worth a visit if you love seafood. For the Harry Potter fans, catch the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig and go over Glenfinnan Viaduct which was featured in the films. For those that have a car, Glencoe and the vsitors centre, the Isle of Skye and Loch Ness are a few other fantastic places you could visit.
